it is currently a balmy 0°F outside.

(71° inside my bedroom)

I had to walk around outside earlier with bailey (the untouched snow is a lot easier on her feet that the hard-packed snow in the backyard)... I swear my lungs were completely frozen for the rest of the day.

but now I am in my comfy bed with tato kneading my feet. and I washed all my hoodies today so tomorrow I will be well-equipped with layers. too bad I don't have a hoodie for my lungs :P

Meme stolen from the Goldphish....

The first ten people to comment give me a request for a picture to be taken of something in my life.

The only catch is-- no pictures of myself. It has to be of objects in my daily life. Then I will take pictures of the requested things, and post them in a separate entry RIGHT HERE.

Then those 10 people who requested photos have to post this same challenge in their own journal, with 1 additional rule (of their own choosing). The 10 people who comment on that entry, have to add ANOTHER rule of their own, and so on and so forth.

New Rule: No workplace photos.

#1 For the Phish : take your favorite movie scene and recreate it with your dolfies

I finally sat down and glued the tops of seraph's thighs x_x I kept getting so frustrated whenever she was in a photostory because her legs would constantly fall apart. and she would be lying in the closet all the time. now she doesn't have to :D it's such a relief to look at her and not feel frustrated.

I think I might redo her face-up (and finally paint her normal faceplate)... I want to give her some tattoos but I don't really have the MSC. I have a few faceplates that need painting though so I can spray all those at the same time.

anyway, it got me thinking about how much time I spend on meryll and brodwyn while everybody else gets ignored. vult's mnf body still doesn't have his tattoo, and soon he'll be getting a scar arm :/ so i'll need to paint that. I think what I need to do is spend like a week or so focusing on one doll, doing face-ups or tattoos (things like finally giving san his lip piercing...) and maybe in some cases more of a wardrobe *glances at shael and sparrow* and when i'm totally happy with them, move on to the next doll.

* I always get so bummed out with goodbyes. I know we're all basically like that....it seems to be something that perhaps we should spend more time considering - artistically, philosophically, psychologically - as a species than we do. As a child and a young person, my father, being military, was always leaving....like for six months, one year, two year tours....and then there was a strange and horrid year in there wherein my father was in Vietnam and half of my mother's family died. And in highschool two of my friends were killed within three month's time of one another. I actually went to the first funeral with the boy who was killed three month's later. It was a not good year for me. Not. Good. Lot of goodbyes....and I struggle with them. Strange times when the village is global and digitized rather than local and structural.

* K's visit was more fun than a tilt-a-whirl. Serious highlight was most of yesterday when we got the dolls out. It was certainly a shot of resin adrenalin that I've been needing. She used her outrageous art restoration skills to give me back a boy I thought was well and truly lost....but he's not! *hugs K* We played, took pictures and she wondered....what Martel's angel/demon alter ego might look like.....wait for it!

* I'm definitely more clear now on what resin has to stay and what resin has to go....and at this point, outside my desire for the Charisma....I just don't see much more resin coming in. Perhaps 2010 will be a year with NO doll purchases whatsoever! I also decided that having a metricshitton of accoutrements is "okay" because it really is the only way to make one doll into multiple charas. It's the multiple dolls that are the problem. Anyone still looking for a complete Glati? Or yos?

* Unfortunately, for nano, last week got away from me. I won't be posting at the half-way mark as I intended, but I am planning on posting this coming weekend!

* In fandom - I keep feeling a bit nauseated every time I think about last week's SPN episode. I really feel that the fan were given the finger. It was gross and truly embarrassing. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

Your result for The Elemental Beauty Test...

Enduring Beauty

42% Earth, 0% Air, 33% Water and 25% Fire!

You have equal parts of Earth and Water.

When people speak of meeting someone that is very deep, they are more than likely talking about someone like you! Many of the people that share Earth and Water elements display a lot of seriousness, are self-protective, and display a lot of depth in everything they do. You tend to be a very hard working because you aren't happy unless you have something to keep you occupied. You aren't afraid to take on emotional burdens either, because it gives you something to do or think about. You need to feel needed and wanted. You enjoy knowing that people can count on you and that you have the resources to see things through. You have a great attachment to money as well, which means that you gyrate toward things such as a secure job. You enjoy possessions, including obtaining and providing for a family.

You are definitely a survivor and can make it through any type of catastrophe. You have a rather traditional sense of values as well, and value community.

The negative side of you may tend to become overly attached to your past and fear what your future will hold. Your challenges may come in the form of being able to be a more positive thinker.
